《夜王》所做的不是在讲“女性觉醒”的口号，而是在讲一种更现实的香港：在一个高度功利化、竞争激烈、节奏极快的城市里，女性从来不是花瓶，她们一直在工作，一直在承受，一直在算账，也一直在努力让自己不被时代淘汰。夜总会的退场，不会只影响到男性，它首先波及的是那些最贴近一线运作的人。影片让女性站在台前，实际上是把夜场从“猎奇场景”拉回到“职业社会”的讲述尺度中。
